Spring Cleaning

feels good when everyone gets together to help out at the church. cleaning isn't ever a fun idea, but it's how we make the best of everything!

Challenged

As you guys know work is always crazy but i am being challenged by God this week. For me it's the work/sleep/eat routine day in and day out. I no longer want this cycle in my life. Several things happened this week....

One of the doc's found out his old attending died because a tree fell on his car but his children in the back were spared... he asked how can God let that happen to good people? He wouldn't believe or understand what i was trying to say, but I can tell you he knows where I stand in my faith. I told a 45 year old women she had cancer that spread through out her body, needless to say there were a lot of tears, but I can tell you that comforting words of the Bible heals the broken heart and the teary eyed fo sho. The busy hectic schedule at work is stressing me out like crazy because everyone needs my attention but I can tell you there is nothing better than praying in the middle of craziness. In this midst of this, God is challenging me to find refuge and comfort in Him and to put my faith into action.

2 Thessalonian 3:6-15 warns us about being idle. "Faith without deeds is dead" james 2. To sum it up, saying that you're a christian but not living the christian life. God has convicted me that work is not an excuse for not serving more. When we surrender our life for God, we should be living for God in word and deed. (God convicted me in college that school isn't an excuse to not serve God... interesting how you learn an old lesson over again) I/we should be the first to volunteer to do anything not to look good in front of parents or other people, but all for God's glory. amen?

I thank God for allowing me to teach the middler class for the next couple sundays and opening my eyes to deepen my relationship with God.

Kind of what thuy was saying about life is too short to complain.... i say life is too short to sit there and do nothing. It's time to move God's kingdom forward. I firmly believe we are the generation that God will use to cross the vietnamese/english bridges. It's time to move God's kingdom forward.

This is not directed towards anyone at all, this is my own personal conviction that I wanted to share. any thoughts?

"A Complaint Free World"

Book: A Complaint Free World
Author: Will Bowen

Will Bowen is a minister at Christ Church Unity in Kansas City.
" Will told his congregation he wanted to make the world a complaint-free zone, and to prove he was serious, he passed out purple bracelets to all the church members and offered them a challenge. 'If you catch yourself complaining, take the bracelet and move it to the other wrist.'"

Hey y'all-
I just thought I'd let everyone know that I am currently reading this book and I think EVERYONE should purchase this book and take the challenge. I just bought it today, so I haven't finished it. I wasn't planning on telling anyone until I was done to make sure it was okay, but seeing all the stats of how much this book has changed lives of others, I figured, what the hey. It's basically a 21 day challenge of NO COMPLAINTS or gossiping, etc. If you do, you have to switch the bracelet to your other wrist and start over. For more info visit:
www.acomplaintfreeworld.org

The bracelet takes 2-3 weeks to ship if you are planning on purchasing one, however in the meantime you can use a rubber band or something. I just ordered five, so if anyone is serious and wants one, I'll have four left once I get them so let me know and I'll give it to you for free.

Also- you can receive 2 free bracelets per household (but you have to pay 1.50 for shipping)

ENJOY =)

* * * Did You Know? * * *

hmm random blog-
Did you know... and I quote from Shape Magazine:

".. when bottles are recycled, their caps (which can't be processed by recycling machinery) are often cut off and thrown away, ending up in landfills, oceans, rivers, and too often, in the mouths of baby sea animals? This causes the animals to either choke or end up with bellies full of plastic, which eventually leads to death due to malnutrition..."

Aveda is collecting caps to recycle them by making tops for a new collection. If you have ANY caps you are no longer using, please give them to me and I'll bring it to the nearest Aveda store. The stores will be collecting them from now until May 10!

Thanks a mill =)

Always Our Planner

Thank God for always being watchful over us !D my first day of work was quite eventful hehehe, work itself was very long, having to watch over people's shoulders and learning. Sadly the eye opening moment of the day for myself was I got into an accident on lunch break. Although my car is at the shop now I thank God for the fact that i came out with no injuries and same for the guy that hit me.
I add in with the reason i say always the planner is because God was being my ever watchful teacher and father. I was making plans during the day to figure out what to do for St. Pattie's day with which I definitely am deterred now !D although I was not planning on getting out of hand, things could and may not always go to plans when it comes to our own weaknesses and desires.

All-in-all it's gonna turn into one of those stories to be told as time passes by of my first day on the job!

News: 17month-old girl reads

i just thought i'd show everyone this CRAZY video. hehe a 17 month year old reading!!!
http://www.wgal.com/video/15477224/index.html?source=CNN

hmm many accomplishments this week =)

so...
my news isn't as big as Vi..however..I just thought I'd
let everyone know how EXCITED I am with my week so far.
I am now part of the auction and food committee for
Make A Wish. Some of you probably know about the
Mother's Day Convoy that Make a Wish has every year
on Mother's day...it always takes place near the old church..
well anyway..it's a fundraising event, and I am helping the
auction committee in finding places to help donate items
to be auctioned off during the Convoy. Also - helping find
vendors who will donate/offer food for cheaper value.
So yea.. if any of you guys can think of any suggestions..
please let me know =)

Alrighty my other bigger accomplishment is I will be
writing for the Capital Times - which is Penn State
Harrisburg's Newspaper. It's an amazing opportunity
because not only do students get to read it, but people
who live in the surrounding area too!!!! I'm super nervous
but yea..it was definitely not hard to get the position, however
it's still a tough job hehe

See you guys on Sunday!
